BNS Section 334 — Dishonestly breaking open receptacle containing property

(1) जो कोई, किसी ऐसे बंद पात्र को, जिसमें संपत्ति हो या जिसमें संपत्ति होने का उसे विश्वास हो, बेईमानी से या रिष्टि करने के आशय से तोड़कर खोलता है या अबंधित करता है, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि दो वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, या जुर्माने से, या दोनों से, दंडित किया जाएगा ।
(2) जो कोई, ऐसा बंद पात्र, जिसमें संपत्ति हो, या जिसमें संपत्ति होने का उसे विश्वास हो, अपने पास न्यस्त किए जाने पर उसको खोलने का प्राधिकार न रखते हुए, बेईमानी से या रिष्टि करने के आशय से, उस पात्र को तोड़कर खोलता है या अबंधित करता है, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि तीन वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, या जुर्माने

(1) Whoever dishonestly or with intent to commit mischief, breaks open or unfastens any closed receptacle which contains or which he believes to contain property, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
(2) Whoever, being entrusted with any closed receptacle which contains or which he believes to contain property, without having authority to open the same, dishonestly, or with intent to commit mischief, breaks open or unfastens that receptacle, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
