BNSS Section 158 — Power of Magistrate to direct local investigation and examination of an expert

मजिस्ट्रेट धारा 56 या धारा 457 के अधीन किसी जांच के प्रयोजनों के लिए,--
(क) ऐसे व्यक्ति द्वारा, जिसे वह ठीक समझे, स्थानीय अन्वेषण किए जाने के लिए निदेश दे सकेगा ; या (ख) किसी विशेषज्ञ को समन कर सकेगा और उसकी परीक्षा कर सकेगा ।

The Magistrate may, for the purposes of an inquiry under section 156 or section 157—
(a) direct a local investigation to be made by such person as he thinks fit; or
(b) summon and examine an expert.
