Full text (English)
(1) Any law referred to in article 2 or article 3 shall contain such provisions for the amendment of the First Schedule and the Fourth Schedule as may be necessary to give effect to the provisions of the law and may also contain such supplemental, incidental and consequential provisions (including provisions as to representation in Parliament and in the Legislature or Legislatures of the State or States affected by such law) as Parliament may deem necessary.
(2) No such law as aforesaid shall be deemed to be an amendment of this Constitution for the purposes of article 368. (w.e.f. 24-12-1955). Constitution (Seventh Amendment) Act, 1956, s. 29 and Sch. (w.e.f. 1-11-1956). CITIZENSHIP

पहली अनुसूची और चौथी अनुसूची के संशोधन तथा अनुपूरक, आनुष॑गिक और पारिणामिक विषयों का उपबंध करने के लिए अनुच्छेद 2 और अनुच्छेद 3 के अधीन बनाई गईं विधियां-(1) अनुच्छेद 2 या अनुच्छेद 3 में निर्दिष्ट किसी विधि में पहली अनुसूची और चौथी अनुसूची के संशोधन के लिए ऐसे उपबंध अंतर्विष्ट होंगे जो उस विधि के उपबंधों को प्रभावी करने के लिए आवश्यक हों तथा ऐसे अनुपूरक, आनुष॑गिक और पारिणामिक उपबंध भी (जिनके अंतर्गत ऐसी विधि से प्रभावित राज्य या राज्यों के संसद्ू में और विधान-मंडल या विधान-मंडलों में प्रतिनिधित्व के बारे में उपबंध हैं) अंतर्विष्ट हो सकेंगे जिन्हें संसदू आवश्यक समझे ।
(2) पूर्वोक्त प्रकार की कोई विधि अनुच्छेद 368 के प्रयोजनों के लिए इस संविधान का संशोधन नहीं समझी जाएगी ।
. संविधान (पाचवां संशोधन) अधिनियम, 955 की धारा 2 द्वारा (24-42-4955 से) परंतुक के स्थान पर प्रतिस्थापित ।
2. संविधान (सातवां संशोधन) अधिनियम, 956 की धारा 29 और अनुसूची द्वारा (--956 से) “पहली अनुसूची के भाग क या. भाग ख में विनिर्दिष्ट” शब्दों और अक्षरों का लोप किया गया ।
3. संविधान (अठारहवां संशोधन) अधिनियम, 966 की धारा 2 द्वारा (27-8-966 से) अंतःस्थापित ।
भाग 2 नागरिकता
(2) पूर्वोक्त प्रकार की कोई विधि अनुच्छेद 368 के प्रयोजनों के लिए इस संविधान का संशोधन नहीं समझी जाएगी ।
