Full text (English)
(1) The executive power of the Union shall be vested in the President and shall be exercised by him either directly or through officers subordinate to him in accordance with this Constitution.
(2) Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing provision, the supreme command of the Defence Forces of the Union shall be vested in the President and the exercise thereof shall be regulated by law.
(3) Nothing in this article shall—
(a) be deemed to transfer to the President any functions conferred by any existing law on the Government of any State or other authority; or
(b) prevent Parliament from conferring by law functions on authorities other than the President.
(2) Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing provision, the supreme command of the Defence Forces of the Union shall be vested in the President and the exercise thereof shall be regulated by law.
(3) Nothing in this article shall—
(a) be deemed to transfer to the President any functions conferred by any existing law on the Government of any State or other authority; or
(b) prevent Parliament from conferring by law functions on authorities other than the President.
पूरा पाठ (हिंदी)
(1) संघ की कार्यपालिका शक्ति राष्ट्रपति में निहित होगी और वह इसका प्रयोग इस संविधान के अनुसार स्वयं या अपने अधीनस्थ अधिकारियों के द्वारा करेगा ।
(2) पूर्वगामी उपबंध की व्यापकता पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव डाले बिना, संघ के रक्षा बलों का सर्वोच्च समादेश राष्ट्रपति में निहित होगा और उसका प्रयोग विधि द्वारा विनियमित होगा ।
(3) इस अनुच्छेद की कोई बात--
(क) किसी विद्यमान विधि द्वारा किसी राज्य की सरकार या अन्य प्राधिकारी को प्रदान किए गए कृत्य राष्ट्रपति को अंतरित करने वाली नहीं समझी जाएगी; या
(ख) राष्ट्रपति से भिन्न अन्य प्राधिकारियों को विधि द्वारा कृत्य प्रदान करने से संसद् को निवारित नहीं करेगी ।
(2) पूर्वगामी उपबंध की व्यापकता पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव डाले बिना, संघ के रक्षा बलों का सर्वोच्च समादेश राष्ट्रपति में निहित होगा और उसका प्रयोग विधि द्वारा विनियमित होगा ।
(3) इस अनुच्छेद की कोई बात--
(क) किसी विद्यमान विधि द्वारा किसी राज्य की सरकार या अन्य प्राधिकारी को प्रदान किए गए कृत्य राष्ट्रपति को अंतरित करने वाली नहीं समझी जाएगी; या
