Full text (English)
(1) The VicePresident of India shall be ex officio Chairman of the Council of States.
(2) The Council of States shall, as soon as may be, choose a member of the Council to be Deputy Chairman thereof and, so often as the office of Deputy Chairman becomes vacant, the Council shall choose another member to be Deputy Chairman thereof.

(1) भारत का उपराष्ट्रपति राज्य
सभा का पदेन सभापति होगा ।
(2) राज्य सभा, यथाशक्य शीघ्र, अपने किसी सदस्य को अपना उपसभापति चुनेगी और जब-जब उपसभापति का पद रिक्त होता है तब-तब राज्य सभा किसी अन्य सदस्य को अपना उपसभापति चुनेगी ।
सभा का पदेन सभापति होगा ।
(2) राज्य सभा, यथाशक्य शीघ्र, अपने किसी सदस्य को अपना उपसभापति चुनेगी और जब-जब उपसभापति का पद रिक्त होता है तब-तब राज्य सभा किसी अन्य सदस्य को अपना उपसभापति चुनेगी ।
