Full text (English)
Where the Court has adjourned the hearing of the suit, ex parte, and the defendant, at or before such hearing appears and assigns good cause for his previous non-appearance, he may, upon such terms as the Court directs as to costs or otherwise, be heard in answer to the suit as if he had appeared on the day fixed for his appearance.

जहां न्यायालय ने एकपक्षीय रूप से वाद की सुनवाई स्थगित कर दी है और प्रतिवादी ऐसी सुनवाई के दिन या पहले उपसंजात होता है और अपनी पूर्व अनुपसंजाति के लिए अच्छा हेतुक दिखाता है वहां ऐसे निबन्धनों पर, जो न्यायालय खर्चों और अन्य बातों के बारे में निदिष्ट करे, उसे वाद के उत्तर में उसी भांति सुना जा सकेगा मानों वह अपनी उपसंजाति के लिए नियत किए गए दिन को उपसंजात हुआ था ।
