BNSS Section 14 — Executive Magistrates
(1) In every district, the State Government may appoint as many persons as itthinks fit to be Executive Magistrates and shall appoint one of them to be the District Magistrate. (2) The State Government may appoint any Executive Magistrate to be an Additional District Magistrate, and such Magistrate shall have such of the powers of a District Magistrate under this Sanhita or under any other law for the time being in force as may be directed by the State Government. (3) Whenever, in consequence of the office of a District Magistrate becoming vacant, any officer succeeds temporarily to the executive administration of the district, such officer shall, pending the orders of the State Government, exercise all the powers and perform all the duties respectively conferred and imposed by this Sanhita on the District Magistrate. (1) राज्य सरकार, प्रत्येक जिले में उतने व्यक्तियों को, जितने वह उचित समझे, कार्यपालक मजिस्ट्रेट नियुक्त कर सकेगी और उनमें से एक को जिला मजिस्ट्रेट नियुक्त करेगी । (2) राज्य सरकार, किसी कार्यपालक मजिस्ट्रेट को अपर जिला मजिस्ट्रेट नियुक्त कर सकेगी, और ऐसे मजिस्ट्रेट को इस संहिता के अधीन या तत्समय प्रवृत्त किसी अन्य विधि के अधीन जिला मजिस्ट्रेट की ऐसी शक्तियां होंगी, जिसे राज्य सरकार निर्दिष्ट करे । (3) जब कभी, किसी जिला मजिस्ट्रेट के पद की रिक्ति के परिणामस्वरूप, कोई अधिकारी उस जिले के कार्यपालक प्रशासन के लिए अस्थायी रूप से उत्तरवर्ती होता है तो ऐसा अधिकारी, राज्य सरकार द्वारा आदेश दिए जाने तक, क्रमशः उन सभी शक्तियों का प्रयोग और उन सभी कर्तव्यों का पालन करेगा जो इस संहिता द्वारा जिला…
