Full text (English)
(1) When any offence is committed in the presence of a Magistrate, whether Executive or Judicial, within his local jurisdiction, he may himself arrest or order any person to arrest the offender, and may thereupon, subject to the provisions herein contained as to bail, commit the offender to custody.
(2) Any Magistrate, whether Executive or Judicial, may at any time arrest or direct the arrest, in his presence, within his local jurisdiction, of any person for whose arrest he is competent at the time and in the circumstances to issue a warrant.

पूरा पाठ (हिंदी)
(1) जब कार्यपालक या न्यायिक मजिस्ट्रेट की उपस्थिति में उसकी स्थानीय अधिकारिता के भीतर कोई अपराध किया जाता है तब वह अपराधी को स्वयं गिरफ्तार कर सकता है या गिरफ्तार करने के लिए किसी व्यक्ति को आदेश दे सकता है और तब जमानत के बारे में इसमें अंतर्विष्ट उपबंधों के अधीन रहते हुए, अपराधी को अभिरक्षा के लिए सुपुर्द कर सकता है ।
(2) कोई कार्यपालक या न्यायिक मजिस्ट्रेट किसी भी समय अपनी स्थानीय अधिकारिता के भीतर किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति को गिरफ्तार कर सकता है, या अपनी उपस्थिति में उसकी गिरफ्तारी का निदेश दे सकता है, जिसकी गिरफ्तारी के लिए वह उस समय और उन परिस्थितियों में वारंट जारी करने के लिए सक्षम है ।
